BUILT AROUND YOUR WORK

A clearer line between everyone on the load.

Your dispatch software manages the freight. D Line gives the people moving it a business number to call, a place to follow up, and a way to reach the right teammate.

01

A business identity for every call

Call brokers, shippers, and customers from a business number. Dispatchers can check the selected outbound number before dialing, keeping personal numbers separate from work conversations.

02

Route calls to the right desk

Use the cloud phone system’s call menus, ring groups, queues, and business-hours routing to organize dispatch, operations, and billing. Set a voicemail destination for calls your team cannot answer.

03

Follow up in writing

Use business SMS for agreed check-in details, appointment times, or a request to call dispatch. Customer texts and internal Team conversations have separate inboxes, so each conversation has a clear place.

04

Give the next shift context

Review call history and voicemail when returning a call. Advanced adds AI transcripts and summaries, helping your team revisit details from conversations and identify follow-up work.

HOW IT COMES TOGETHER

One workday. Several ways to connect.

01

At the dispatch desk

Use a desk phone or the desktop app while working in your dispatch tools. Give colleagues their own extensions for direct internal calls.

02

Between check-ins

Keep driver and customer conversations on the business line. Follow up with a text when business messaging is enabled for your number.

03

At shift change

Review missed calls and voicemail, then use Team chat to pass along the next action. Configure after-hours routing around your actual coverage.

LET’S MAKE IT YOURS

Plan your dispatch phone setup.

A useful starting point for a carrier, freight brokerage, or independent dispatch office:

  • List the people answering calls and the departments callers need to reach.
  • Choose business numbers and identify any existing numbers you want reviewed for porting.
  • Decide which workstations need desk phones and which people will use an app.
  • Set office hours, ring groups, and voicemail destinations for unanswered calls.
  • Complete the required business messaging registration before using SMS.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Trucking phone system FAQs.

Is D Line a phone system for trucking companies?

Yes. Carriers, freight brokers, and dispatch teams can use D Line for business voice calls, SMS, voicemail, internal extensions, and team chat. It works alongside your dispatch or transportation management software; fleet tracking and load management remain in those tools.

Do drivers need the D Line app to receive a call?

No. A dispatcher can call a driver’s regular phone number. Drivers only need an app account if you want them to use D Line’s own calling or team features. Mobile app calling requires an internet connection.

Can dispatchers use physical desk phones?

Yes. We offer desk phones for dispatch offices and other fixed workstations. Ask us for a hardware quote and a model recommendation based on your call volume, headset needs, and network setup.

Can we send pickup and delivery updates by text?

Business SMS can be used for conversational updates with recipients who have agreed to receive them. SMS/10DLC is included in Advanced and available as an add-on for Base. Messaging requires number eligibility, business registration, and approval before activation.

Can we keep our current dispatch number?

D Line supports number-porting requests. We can review your number and current carrier before a switch. Keep your existing service active until the port completes; eligibility and timing depend on the number and carrier.

Does the monthly price increase with every dispatcher?

Base and Advanced are priced per workspace and include unlimited extensions. Calling allowances, additional numbers, messaging, and hardware costs are separate considerations. Compare the current plans below before choosing a setup.
