A fair fit check

Who should choose which.

Choose D Line if…

  • You want recording, desktop calling, and call menus without paying for a higher per-user tier.
  • Your headcount changes and you want the bill to stay put.
  • You want an AI agent to answer calls, included in the plan.
  • You want AI call summaries for the team at $35/month rather than per user.

Choose Ooma if…

  • You want a toll-free number and a direct number for every user included in the price.
  • You call Mexico or Puerto Rico often and want that included.
  • You prefer Ooma’s physical base stations and desk phones, or need fax from the same provider.
  • You have one or two users who only need Essentials.

Switching

How to move from Ooma to D Line

Do not cancel Ooma before the port completes. Cancelling first can release the number.

  1. 01

    Set up D Line first

Start a 14-day trial, invite your team, and build call menus, ring groups, and voicemail on the temporary number. Users and extensions are unlimited on both plans.

  2. 02

    Get your Ooma account details

Note the account number, any account or port-out PIN, and the name and service address exactly as Ooma has them. A recent bill helps.

  3. 03

    Include every number

List the main number, each direct-dial number, and the toll-free number you want to keep, so D Line can port them together.

  4. 04

Request the port in D Line

Sign the Letter of Authorization (LOA) and submit the port from the phone numbers area of your workspace. Porting in is free, and eligibility and timing are confirmed before the move.

  5. 05

    Test, then cancel

When D Line confirms the port, test inbound calls and texts, register texting (10DLC) if you use it, then cancel Ooma.
