Zoom Phone alternative

A Zoom Phone alternative priced per workspace, not per license

Zoom Phone adds calling to Zoom with a license per user, and its listed prices are billed annually as one upfront charge. It is a natural fit for teams that live in Zoom Meetings. D Line is a phone system first, priced per workspace with unlimited users, and billed monthly or yearly. We make D Line; Zoom details link to zoom.us, checked Oct 2026.

A fair fit check

Who should choose which.

Choose D Line if…

  • You want to pay month to month, not one annual charge per license.
  • Your team grows or changes and you do not want to buy licenses for each person.
  • You want an AI agent answering calls as part of the plan.
  • You want live human support at any hour, whatever your bill size.

Choose Zoom Phone if…

  • Your company already runs on Zoom Meetings and Team Chat, and you want calling in the same app and bill.
  • You have staff in several countries and need local numbers or bring-your-own-carrier options.
  • You want the lowest per-user entry price with metered calling for light callers.
  • You need online fax included in the license.

Switching

How to move from Zoom Phone to D Line

Do not cancel Zoom Phone before the port completes. Cancelling first can release the number.

  1. 01

    Set up D Line first

Start a 14-day trial, invite your team, and build call menus, ring groups, and voicemail on the temporary number. Users and extensions are unlimited on both plans.

  2. 02

Get your Zoom Phone account details

Note the account number, any account or port-out PIN, and the name and service address exactly as Zoom Phone has them. A recent bill helps.

  3. 03

    Check your license term

Zoom Phone licenses are billed annually up front. Plan the move around your renewal date so you are not paying for both.

  4. 04

Request the port in D Line

Sign the Letter of Authorization (LOA) and submit the port from the phone numbers area of your workspace. Porting in is free, and eligibility and timing are confirmed before the move.

  5. 05

    Test, then cancel

When D Line confirms the port, test inbound calls and texts, register texting (10DLC) if you use it, then cancel Zoom Phone.
