Quo alternative

A Quo alternative that stops charging per user

Quo is the new name of OpenPhone, a messaging-first business phone app that bills per user, so a 10-person team pays ten times the plan price. D Line is a business phone system priced per workspace: $20 or $35 a month for everyone, with an AI agent, call menus and ring groups on both plans. We make D Line; the Quo details below come from quo.com, checked Oct 2026. If you knew the product as OpenPhone, the OpenPhone alternative page covers the rename.

A fair fit check

Who should choose which.

Choose D Line if…

  • Your headcount changes and you want the phone bill to stay put.
  • You want a call menu and ring groups without moving to Quo Business.
  • You want a person on the phone at 2 a.m., not a chat window during business hours.
  • You want IP desk phones at reception alongside the apps.

Choose Quo if…

  • Shared text inboxes and internal threads on customer conversations are how your team works.
  • You need HubSpot or Salesforce connected today rather than on request.
  • You are one or two people and a number per person is worth more to you than unlimited seats.
  • You already automate with Zapier, Make or webhooks around Quo.

Switching

How to move from Quo to D Line

Do not cancel Quo before the port completes. Cancelling first can release the number.

  1. 01

    Set up D Line first

Start a 14-day trial, invite your team, and build call menus, ring groups, and voicemail on the temporary number. Users and extensions are unlimited on both plans.

  2. 02

    Get your Quo account details

Note the account number, any account or port-out PIN, and the name and service address exactly as Quo has them. A recent bill helps.

  3. 03

    Download your Quo data

Export contacts, call recordings and message history you want to keep from Quo before the number moves; they do not transfer with the port.

  4. 04

Request the port in D Line

Sign the Letter of Authorization (LOA) and submit the port from the phone numbers area of your workspace. Porting in is free, and eligibility and timing are confirmed before the move.

  5. 05

    Test, then cancel

When D Line confirms the port, test inbound calls and texts, register texting (10DLC) if you use it, then cancel Quo.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Quo alternative for a small team?

It depends on what you value. For teams that want to stop paying per user, D Line is one workspace price ($20 or $35 a month) with unlimited users; for messaging-first teams with CRM needs, Quo Business may still fit better. The tables above show both.

How much does Quo cost for 10 users?

At list prices on quo.com (checked Oct 2026), 10 users are $190/month on Starter, $330 on Business and $470 on Scale, billed monthly. D Line Advanced is $35/month for the whole workspace.

Does the Quo rename change my OpenPhone account?

No. OpenPhone became Quo in September 2025 and existing accounts carried over under the new name. The OpenPhone alternative page on this site covers the rename in more detail.

Does D Line have shared inboxes like Quo?

D Line keeps customer calls, texts and voicemail on the business number in a shared history that teammates can see, and team chat for internal messages. Quo’s inbox is more message-centric; if threaded internal comments on each text are central to your work, test both.

Can I keep my Quo phone number if I switch to D Line?

Usually, yes. Request the port from D Line, keep Quo active until D Line confirms the move, then cancel. D Line does not charge to port a number in.

Does D Line answer calls with AI the way Quo’s Sona does?

Yes. Both D Line plans include an AI agent that answers and routes calls, with 2,000 AI minutes per workspace per month included; it never bills overage. Quo includes Sona with a free credit allowance and sells more credits.
