CallRail alternative

A CallRail alternative when you need a phone system, not call tracking

CallRail is marketing software: it tracks which ad, page or campaign made the phone ring, records the call and scores it. Its plans start at $50/month with 5 numbers, 250 minutes and 25 texts pooled, then per-minute charges. D Line is a business phone system for the people who answer and make calls: unlimited users, call menus, ring groups, recording and an AI agent for one workspace price. Many teams need only one of the two. We make D Line; CallRail figures are from callrail.com, checked Oct 2026.

A fair fit check

Who should choose which.

Choose D Line if…

  • Your real need is a phone system: extensions for the team, a call menu, ring groups, voicemail and apps.
  • Your team talks for hours a month and per-minute pricing would add up.
  • You want an AI agent to answer calls, included in the plan.
  • You were using CallRail numbers as your main business lines and want the calls, not the attribution.

Choose CallRail if…

  • You spend on ads and need to know which campaign, page or keyword made each call happen.
  • You want dynamic number insertion on your website and form tracking next to call tracking.
  • Your call volume is modest and marketing reporting matters more than calling features.
  • You already route tracked calls to a phone system you keep; the two can coexist.

Switching

How to move from CallRail to D Line

Do not cancel CallRail before the port completes. Cancelling first can release the number.

  1. 01

    Set up D Line first

Start a 14-day trial, invite your team, and build call menus, ring groups, and voicemail on the temporary number. Users and extensions are unlimited on both plans.

  2. 02

    Get your CallRail account details

Note the account number, any account or port-out PIN, and the name and service address exactly as CallRail has them. A recent bill helps.

  3. 03

Decide which CallRail numbers are business lines

Tracking numbers tied to campaigns can stay with CallRail and forward to D Line; port only the numbers customers know as your main lines.

  4. 04

Request the port in D Line

Sign the Letter of Authorization (LOA) and submit the port from the phone numbers area of your workspace. Porting in is free, and eligibility and timing are confirmed before the move.

  5. 05

    Test, then cancel

When D Line confirms the port, test inbound calls and texts, register texting (10DLC) if you use it, then cancel CallRail.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is CallRail a business phone system?

Not primarily. CallRail describes itself as call tracking and marketing analytics: it shows which marketing made the phone ring, records the call and analyzes it. It has routing and a softphone, but numbers, minutes and texts are pooled and metered. D Line is a business phone system built for the team that answers.

How much does CallRail cost per month?

CallRail lists four plans (checked Oct 2026): Lead Tracking $50, Lead Tracking Complete $95, Lead Conversion $150 and Lead Conversion Complete $195 per month, each with 5 local numbers, 250 minutes and 25 texts included before per-unit charges.

Can I use D Line and CallRail together?

Yes. Keep CallRail tracking numbers for campaigns and forward them to your D Line business number or ring group; D Line handles the team’s extensions, menus, recording and apps. D Line does not provide marketing attribution itself.

Does D Line track which ad made a customer call?

No. D Line records who called, when, the recording and (on Advanced) a transcript and summary, but it does not do dynamic number insertion or campaign attribution. If that reporting is essential, CallRail or a similar tool is the right category.

Can I port a CallRail number to D Line?

Usually, yes, for numbers you own on the account. Keep CallRail active, request the port from D Line, and cancel only after D Line confirms the move. Porting in is free.
